Steps to get your AM license
- Psycho-technical: before taking the theory exam you must obtain a medical certificate of psycho-technical aptitude, which can be obtained from any specialised medical centre and you must pass a coordination test, an ophthalmological and medical check-up.
- Theoretical: the theoretical exam is about road safety contents and specific contents of moped driving. It allows 2 failures to pass the test.
- Practical: the practical test is a very simple test as shown in the video, it is done on a circuit of the tracks of the provincial traffic headquarters in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

- It basically consists of demonstrating that you know how to handle the moped, keep your balance and make tight turns. There’s no road test.

MINIMUM AGE
Until May 2010 this permit was known as a moped driving license. To obtain the «AM Driver’s License» the minimum age is currently 15 years (previously it was 14).
Until now the driver of a moped had to be at least 18 years old to transport passengers. But from January 1st 2016, the Royal Decree 1055/2015 of November 20th comes into force, which modifies the previous one, according to which the minimum age to carry passengers in a moped is eliminated.
Authorizes to drive
This licence authorises the driving of two or three-wheeled mopeds with a cylinder capacity not exceeding 50 c.c. and light quadricycles with a speed not exceeding 45 km/h.
Light quadricycle: a four-wheeled vehicle with an unladen mass (tare) of less than 350 kg (excluding the mass of the batteries in electric vehicles) and a maximum net engine power of up to 4 kW for other types of engine.
